The 6th Street Playhouse has just announced an extension of its current production of "The Marvelous Wonderettes." Two performances have been added for 8 p.m. Friday, May 18 and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

The 6th Street Playhouse's critically acclaimed production of Roger Bean's 1950-1960s inspired jukebox musical is directed by Craig Miller and features Ashley McKenna, Katie Veale, Julianne Lorenzen and Shari Hopkinson, with choreography by Janis Wilson and musical direction by Alise Girard.

The musical takes audiences back to 1958 when four girls from the Springfield High School song leader squad step in at the last minute to entertain their classmates at the annual senior prom. The story and music continue when the four meet again in 1968 at their 10-year class reunion.

"The Marvelous Wonderettes" features over 30 classic pop-charting hits from the 1950s and '60s performed in four-part harmony.

The 6th Street Playhouse is located at 52 West 6th Street in Santa Rosa, Calif.
