Seussical the Musical at Sunshine Brooks Theater

“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’ most beloved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty bring to life Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a young dreamer with a big imagination—Jojo.

Narrated by the mischievous Cat in the Hat, the story follows Horton as he discovers a speck of dust containing the Whos, including Jojo, a child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” As Horton protects the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, he also cares for an abandoned egg left behind by the carefree Mayzie La Bird. Though faced with ridicule, peril, and even a trial, Horton remains steadfast—with Gertrude McFuzz by his side, never losing faith in him.

Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are tested—and triumph. Seussical is a whimsical, heartwarming experience that is fun for the whole family!
