De La Casa, written by James Selledy and directed by Mia Spencer, is a staged reading presented as part of Trinity Theatre Company's Fourth Annual New Works Festival. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, the play follows a man and his wife as they clash over family obligations, cultural identity, and unfinished dreams in their newly purchased home. When a working-class laborer and his family enter their lives, tensions around class, race, and ambition rise to the surface. The reading is performed by a ensemble of San Diego-based artists as part of a festival that received over 1,000 submissions from across the country.
