The Man Who Came To Dinner by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, acknowledged as one of the funniest comedies ever written, is coming to the Coronado Playhouse stage June 29 -August 5, 2012.

When a freak accident on the Stanley family’s Ohio doorstep lands venomous theater critic SheriDan Whiteside in a wheelchair, the house is under siege from his extended reign of terror. Hysteria runs rampant as the convalescing curmudgeon interferes, blackmails, lies and runs roughshod over everyone.

The show features Phil Johnson. Johnson performed on Broadway in Les Miserables, in the Canadian production of Sunset Boulevard and toured with Les Miz and the First National Company of Miss Saigon.

A comedian, actor and singer, he has appeared with his original solo plays in L.A., Chicago, and in San Diego. Johnson’s original comedies have been selected ‘Best of the San Diego Actors’ Festival'.

The production is directed by Ruff Yeager. Yeager’s work for the stage has been honored by the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle, KPBS and Playbill. He recently directed the critically acclaimed production of Brooklyn Boy for Scripps Ranch Theatre and Anon(ymous) by Naomi Iizuka. Yeager is a professor in the Department of Theatre at Southwestern College.

The show also features Mary Ann Tachco, Amy Dell, Ryan Casselman, Yvette Angulo, Steven J. Jensen, M Susan Peck, Amanda Cooley Davis, Faeren Adams, Eric Poppick, Kim Strassburger, Philip John, Elaine Litton, Gregory Batty, Frank Godinez, Frances Rivera, Albert Molina, Bryan Finnigan, Julia Acherman, Paul Schaeffer, Christopher Pittman, James Gomez and Andre Gonzales.
