When the daylight ends and the moon ascends, find yourself at Moonlight Amphitheatre for "The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy." The creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky family we all know and love storms onto the Moonlight stage Wednesday, Sept. 14 through Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

A comedic musical performance about family, "The Addams Family" brings the San Diego community together to view a different kind of family dynamic. The show opened on Broadway in April 2010 with an extremely impressive original cast, including the incomparable Nathan Lane as the family's patriarch, Gomez Addams.

Tickets for the Moonlight production are just $10 to $55 for reserved seats; $8 to $20 for general lawn admission and includes a lawn chair provided at entry. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 760-724-2110 or visit moonlightstage.com.

The original Broadway production ran for 35 previews and 722 performances, and won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design in 2010. The comedic musical also won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards for Favorite New Broadway Musical, Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Musical, Favorite Breakthrough Performance, and Favorite Onstage Pair. The Moonlight production is the San Diego Regional Premiere.

The cast for "The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy" includes: David Engel (Gomez Addams), Terra MacLeod (Morticia Addams), Randall Hickman (Uncle Fester), Lindsay Joan (Wednesday Addams), Ryan Singer (Pugsley Addams), Dustin Ceithamer (Lurch), and Samantha Wynn Greenstone (Grandma).

It's been a season of local talent and "The Addams Family" follows suit with another wonderful Moonlight cast featuring San Diegans. However, the creepy captivating couple Gomez and Morticia Addams will be played by two Broadway veterans, David Engel and Terra MacLeod. Engel, a longtime Moonlight performer who was last seen at Moonlight as Harold Hill in the 2015 production of "The Music Man," has generously stepped away from the Broadway stage to perform in "The Addams Family." MacLeod, an award-winning actress best known for her portrayal of Velma Kelly in the hit Broadway musical, "Chicago," will be lending her song and dance talents to the Moonlight for its final summer show.

"I can think of no better ghoul to bring to life 'The Addams Family' than director James Vasquez," said Steven Glaudini, Producing Artistic Director, Moonlight Stage Productions. "As a director, James is well-known for taking audiences to outwardly places, whether it's the 'Rocky Horror Show' or 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.' I couldn't be more pleased to have two Broadway veterans, David Engel ('Seussical,' 'Putting it Together,' 'La Cage aux Folles' and the original 'Smudge in Forever Plaid') and Terra C. MacLeod (Velma in 'Chicago') play Gomez and Morticia respectively. Joining them is my buddy and Moonlight veteran Randall Hickman as Uncle Fester. It's the perfect cast and the perfect show to close our 36th season."

The production and design team includes: James Vasquez, director, Karl Warden, choreographer, Randi Ellen Rudolph, musical director and conductor.
