The Scripteasers celebrates seven decades of new plays with its 70th Anniversary Showcase on Friday, May 4th, at 7:30 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 2051 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., SD 92107. Suggested donation $10.00.

Founded in 1948, The Scripteasers, a San Diego-based playwrights development group, is the longest continually operating organization in the nation dedicated to helping writers refine their craft.

New plays are read every two weeks throughout the year and members have had work published (Samuel French and others) and performed internationally, including Kennedy Center, and Off-Broadway. Actors and theater lovers are also welcome, and actor members have been seen on local stages including The Old Globe, Cygnet and many others.

Mitch Feingold, President of The Scripteasers, explained that the organization has read more than 1200 scripts over seven decades, and "We are looking forward to an outstanding showcase which will highlight new work by San Diego playwrights - performed by San Diego actors."

The showcase includes a diverse collection of writers, directors and actors from all over San Diego County- complete list below and attached. (Photos available upon request)
