FIRSTS ~ Who better to tell the story of teenage love than two teenagers themselves? This contemporary/folk musical about sisters Christie and Madeline navigates the complex world of young love. The madly talented cello-player, Wes, charms his way into both girls' lives, causing a rift between these polar-opposite girls.

About us: Annika Patton and Emily Laliotis are from San Diego, California and both attend Canyon Crest Academy. Annika just finished up her sophomore year in high school as a member of CCA's Theatre Conservatory, and Emily graduated and is preparing to move onto the University of Puget Sound. They met during a production of "Eurydice" at CCA, of which Emily was the composer, sound designer, and musical director and Annika performed as part of the ensemble. They have been developing the idea for "FIRSTS" since the summer of 2013. Set to the tune of original, contemporary folk music, this story resonates with people of all ages-- after all, the pangs of young love and all the drama that comes with it is universal. "FIRSTS" will be produced as a part of the San Diego International Fringe Festival this summer, a festival showcasing theatre, dance, and visual art from all over the world. Emily and Annika are the youngest producing team to participate in the festival, EVER! Together, they are breaking ground for young artists across the county. Alongside artists from all over the world, this debut San Diego homegrown-musical will feature students from the Envision Arts program at Canyon Crest Academy.
