Michael Airington to Bring 'OH MY GOODNESS...' to Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage, 1/29

By:

Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage in San Diego presents the critically-acclaimed Oh My Goodness . . . it's Paul Lynde, the hilarious show written and performed by Michael Airington, for one night only!

The show the critics are raving about, Oh My Goodness ... it's Paul Lynde, written and performed by Michael Airington and featuring the voiceover of Master of the Hollywood Squares himself Peter Marshall, comes to MA4 on Thursday, January 29 at 8:00 PM.

Directed by John Hall, Oh My Goodness...it's Paul Lynde traces Paul's life from his humble beginnings to his rise to stardom as one of America's funniest and biggest stars on television in the 70s! Best known as the star of such hit television series as Bewitched and Hollywood Squares, and movies such as Bye Bye, Birdie and Son of Flubber, legendary comedian Paul Lynde was the inimitable master of the slow burn. Michael Airington portrays Paul Lynde and takes the audience on an unforgettable trip through the highs and lows of his turbulent life, via confessional monologue (and, with the help of the voice of Peter Marshall), to the Hollywood Squares and back again!

From his childhood as an overweight kid to his big-screen debut in New Faces of 1952, through his Broadway turn in Bye, Bye, Birdie, to his thirteen legendary years on the Hollywood Squares, we experience the jokes and the laughter of this extraordinary comedian. Airington also highlights the loneliness and heartbreak at the center square of Lynde's life, which makes the man all the more unforgettable to a whole new generation of audiences and fans alike. Airington truly brings Paul and his comic genius back to life.

Michael Airington, the man that brings Lynde to life, is an actor, writer, voice artist, comic and producer. He has been creating and inhabiting a multitude of memorable characters and voices since he was a young boy, first gaining national notice as a teen. While some of Michael's greatest triumphs have occurred as his alter ego "Ester Goldberg," his versatility, quick wit and talent take center stage in any production. Airington has the unique ability to evoke beloved stars of the past, while always keeping it fresh and relevant-and skewering the pompous along the way.

The show is produced with the full approval and cooperation of the estate of Paul Lynde. Tickets are priced at $25-$35 and are available at www.ma4sd.com.

Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage, San Diego's premiere live music venue and supper club, is located in the heart of Hillcrest at 3940 Fourth Avenue, 2nd Floor, San Diego, CA 92103. More information at www.ma4sd.com.
