Globe Alumni To Star In CELEBRITY AUTOBIOGRAPHY 12/6
Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that the Globe will present a one-night-only benefit performance of Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words, the award-winning comedy sensation in which superstar memoirs are acted out live on stage. Created by writer/producer Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, Celebrity Autobiography was honored with a 2009 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and has since played to packed houses in Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. Proceeds from this special event will benefit the Globe's artistic and educational activities. Celebrity Autobiography will be performed in the Old Globe Theatre on Monday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office.
Celebrity Autobiography features a comedic ensemble performing from the actual memoirs of a wide range of celebrities. The passages run the gamut from the "poetry" of Suzanne Somers to the shocking "romance tips" from Tommy Lee to the most famous Hollywood love triangle in history: ElizaBeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. And what's remarkable and unforgettably hilarious - it's all in their own words.
The lineup for Celebrity Autobiography includes Old Globe alumni Tovah Feldshuh (Old Globe Associate Artist; Romeo and Juliet, 1980, Golda's Balcony; 2010, Kissing Jessica Stein), John Goodman (Henry IV, 1996; The Big Lebowski, "Roseanne"), Paul Michael (The Last Romance, 2010), Kathy Najimy (The Robber Bridegroom, 1978, Dirty Blonde, 2000; Sister Act, "Veronica's Closet"), Marion Ross (Twelfth Night, 1949, Summer and Smoke, 1973, The Last Romance, 2010; "Happy Days") and Michael Urie (A Midsummer Night's Dream, 2006; "Ugly Betty"), with Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel.
