Diversionary Welcomes New Managing Director
Diversionary Theatre in University Heights, San Diego, is thrilled to announce a brand new member of the staff, Jenny Case. The new leadership position of Managing Director has been created for Case, and will include working closely with Executive Artistic Director Matt M. Morrow on producing a the season of Mainstage productions, Cabarets, new play development and cultivating and managing patron relationships.
Case comes to Diversionary with a wealth of experience, most recently at La Jolla Playhouse where she was the Associate General Manager for ten years. Case oversaw Company Management, contracted artists, line produced developmental workshops in New York as well as helped to produce the WOW (WithOut Walls) 2017 Festival. Says Case of her new role,"In the two years since Matt Morrow arrived, Diversionary has brought some of the most vibrant and exciting new works from across the nation to San Diego. I am honored to get a chance to support Matt and the Board and to be part of this theatre and its future."At Diversionary, Case will work closely with Diversionary artists to help maintain the strong precedent Morrow has set for the development and production of exciting and daring new work. Case will work this summer to help produce Diversionary's 2017-2018 Season, which includes four West Coast Premiers and a World Premiere Musical.
Jenny Case has 16 years' experience in working for non-profit theatre in San Diego, including the last 10 years as the Associate General Manager of La Jolla Playhouse. She also served as the Producer of the upcoming 2017 WithOut Walls (WOW) Festival and one of the producers of the wildly successful Accomplice: San Diego, which was performed in Little Italy in 2013. She also line produced many of the Playhouse's New York developmental workshops including Escape to Margaritaville, Hands on a Hardbody, Bonnie and Clyde, Little Miss Sunshine and many others.
