Diversionary Sets New Senior Program
The staff, board, and community of Diversionary Theatre, America's third oldest LGBT theatre, are proud to present "The Silver Squad".
Everyone has a story to tell. Diversionary Theatre invites LGBTQ Seniors to join its first-ever performance ensemble The Silver Squad that will culminate in a showcase presentation during the 2016 Pride Festival.
Beginning May 31st, The Silver Squad will meet twice a week at Diversionary over a seven-week period to train in storytelling, acting, improv, and writing. The squad will then create their own ensemble-based show to share with the community. The entire community will be invited to attend the special presentations during the San Diego Pride Festival, July 15 & 16 at Diversionary Theatre.
"I am thrilled to be offering this unique experience to San Diego's lifetime learners. I am inspired by older adults because of their experience, and emotional depth. I look forward to working with these folks and helping them to tell the stories that need to be told." - Skyler Sullivan, Education Associate at Diversionary Theatre.
For the seven week course, which includes over 28 hours of class instruction the tuition is $350. Scholarships are available. Reserve your spot at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe.c/10081591 or by calling 619-220-0097. Deadline to sign up is 5/24.
