3-D Theatricals Presents the West Coast Regional Premiere of A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER

Over the last ten years, 3-D Theatricals has established itself with audiences and fans, far and wide, as one of Southern California's premier professional theater companies. With fresh interpretations of must-see Broadway shows combined with A-list Broadway talent, our brand of family-friendly entertainment makes our company's not-to- be-missed blockbuster productions worth seeing!

The second show in our spectacular 2018/2019 season, is the 4-time Tony Award-Winning musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. With the book by Robert L. Freedman, music by Steve Lutvaki and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and Steve Lutvaki, "Gentleman's Guide" received ten 2014 Tony Award nominations, winning Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Costume Design. The show also received The Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding Musical, and garnered a 2015 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Show Album, making "Gentleman's Guide" the most nominated and awarded new musical of the 2014 Broadway season.

"Gentleman's Guide" opened at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre to overwhelming critical acclaim in 2013. The New York Times raved "'Gentleman's Guide' will lift the hearts of all those who've been pining for what sometimes seems a lost art form." The Hollywood Reporter enthused "'Gentleman's Guide' restores our faith in musical comedy!" Time Magazine said, "Just as I was about to give up on musicals, along comes 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder'!" And Entertainment Weekly made the uproarious new Broadway musical one of its must-see picks of the year, describing the show as "Quite simply, it's a bloody good time!"

ABOUT A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is the knock-'em-dead, uproarious romp filled with unforgettable music and non-stop laughs. When the low born Monty Navarro finds out that he's eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D'Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more murderous path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the ninth Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? This fun musical follows him on his adventures that will change the course of his future.

3DT's production of "Gentleman's Guide" stars Jeff Skowron* as The D'Ysquith Family, Nick Tubbs* as Monty Navarro, Julia Burrows* as Sibella Hallward, Kelley Dorney* as Phoebe D'Ysquith, Tracy Lore* as Woman #1, Jean Kauffman* as Woman #2, Dayna Sauble as Woman #3, Calvin Brady as Man #1, Richie Ferris as Man #2 and Justin Charles Cowden as Man #3.

Peggy Hickey, who choreographed "Gentleman's Guide" on Broadway, will direct and choreograph this production for 3-D Theatricals. She also directed and choreographed the production's national tour. Peggy's other Broadway credits include MY FAIR LADY starring Kelli O'Hara, Kelsey Grammer, and Brian Dennehy, at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic, THE MOST HAPPY FELLA starring Paul Sorvino for New York City Opera and LUCKY TO BE ME, THE MUSIC OF Leonard Bernstein also for NYCO. Ms. Hickey collaborated with Monty Python's Eric Idle on AN EVENING WITHOUT MONTY PYTHON which played in both New York and LA.

Julie Lamoureux returns to 3DT as musical director after previously musically directing OKLAHOMA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, RAGTIME (Ovation Nomination), INTO THE WOODS, SHREK, A CHORUS LINE and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. She musically directed MY FAIR LADY for Musical Theatre West, where she also worked on numerous readings in the Reiner Reading Series including MOST HAPPY FELLA, 110 IN THE SHADE, BRIGADOON and THE SECRET GARDEN. Other productions include the SoCal premiere of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM at the Lewis Family Playhouse, MARY POPPINS at the Candlelight Pavilion, ROAD SHOW and TITANIC for Musical Theatre Guild, a concert version of THE SECRET GARDEN at the Rubicon and conducting THE ADDAMS FAMILY at the Moonlight Amphitheatre.
