Photo Flash: Desert Star Playhouse's SHEIK OF PERSIA
With an epic tale of Arabian adventure soon to hit movie theatres, Desert Star Playhouse unleashes its own sand-and-sorcery parody with "Sheik of Persia: Like Sands Through The Hourglass." This zany comedy for the whole family opens May 20th.
Written by Peter Van Slyke and directed by Scott Holman, "Sheik of Persia: Like Sands Through The Hourglass..." is an epic adventure full of romance, nutty characters and good old-fashioned fun. The sands of Arabia hold many secrets, and British tourist Alice Hastings and her bumbling fiancé have just stumbled onto two of them: a mysterious gold medallion and an antique hourglass. The evil Wazir would love to get his grimy hands on both these relics to gain ultimate power and control over the world. Can the heroic Sheik of Persia rescue Alice and stop the dirty rotten Wazir and his nutty sidekicks before time runs out? Don't miss this hilarious tale filled with shrinking rooms, flying carpets and snake charmers, and Desert Star's trademark outrageous comedy.
"Sheik of Persia" runs May 20 thru July 10, 2010. The evening also includes one of Desert Star's signature musical olios following the show. "Vacation Time" olio features songs centered on travel and vacations mixed with more of Desert Star's signature comedy.
Food is available from an á la carte menu and is served right at your table. The menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh wraps, appetizers, and scrumptious desserts.
