Park City Institute Presents Founding Lead Guitarist Of The Eagles, Don Felder

By:

Park City Institute presents rock legend and founding member of The Eagles, Don Felder, Saturday August 11, part of the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series. The performance will pop up at City Park in Park City, at 6:00 P.M.

"Don Felder's music is part of our collective consciousness," said PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "He can perform favorites - "Hotel California," "One of These Nights," "New Kid in Town," like no one else - because he co-wrote them. His work since he left the band has explored so many genres, we can't wait to see what he does on stage."

Felder was a member of The Eagles for 27 years, putting his mark on numerous Eagles milestones. In addition to originating the music and co-writing the band's biggest hit - the iconic, GRAMMY-winning "Hotel California." His lyrical guitar work on the band's legendary songs, earned praise from fans and music press. Felder was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1998.

Felder has collaborated and performed with musical legends including The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Bob Seger, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, Kenny Loggins, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Boz Scaggs, Paul Simon, Elton John, Diana Ross, Vince Gill and Stevie Wonder.

His song "Never Surrender," co-written with Kenny Loggins, was included on the soundtrack of the motion picture, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, is one of dozens he has composed and performed for a variety of film and television projects. Felder released his first solo album, Airborne, in 1983, and his second solo album, Road to Forever in 2012.

Both solo albums reinforce the idea that Felder is not bound by one songwriting style. "I don't write in a specific genre," he said. His live shows are a mix of rock-and-roll comfort food, and discovery songs-leaving their own imprint.
