The Actors Fund has announced a benefit performance of THE LION KING in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This special performance to benefit the Fund will take place on August 25, 2010 at the Capitol Theatre. 

The Actor's Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Fund is a safety net, providing programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition. Social services programs include the Entertainment Assistance Program, HIV/AIDS Initiative, The Dancers Resource, and Howel Emergency Life Project, among others. THE LION KING will run at the Capitol Theatre from August 11 to September 26, 2010.  The musical, directed by Julie Taymor, features unique portrayals of animals by its cast and hit songs such as 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' and 'Circle of Life.'   THE LION KING won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1998.
