It's princess Aurora's 16th birthday, and Flora, Fauna and Merryweather must use their fairy magic to save her from the spell of evil sorceress Maleficent.

Hale Center Theater Orem announces auditions for the youth workshop production of "Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids." The classic fairytale is told Disney style and has many feature and ensemble parts, from King Stefan and Queen Stefanie's loyal subjects to Maleficent's slimy goons.

"Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids" is a new stage adaptation based on the Disney film and is accompanied by fun new songs to bring a fresh telling of the story to a new generation of kids and families. Songs from the beloved film, including "Once Upon a Dream," accompany fun new songs like "Maleficent!" and "A Little Magic Now" to bring a fresh telling of the story to a new generation of kids and families.

Auditions will be held today, May 4, from 4-6 p.m. at Hale Center Theater Orem, 225 West 400 North, Orem. Boys and girls ages 10-17 are welcome to call the theater and sign up for an audition time.
