MONTY PYTHON'S "SPAMALOT" - July 9-18
Music Circus premiere! Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," 2005's Tony Award-winning Best Musical will be performed for the first time in Sacramento, the first time by a regional theatre and the first time in the round, as it opens the Music Circus season. Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table, and featuring a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people.

"JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT" - July 20-25
A fanciful view of biblical Egypt with Joseph, his jealous brothers and a rockin' pharaoh. This colorful musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice showcases a kaleidoscope of musical styles from rock to country to calypso. The summer Music Circus will produce the new London script with new songs and a 50-person children's choir.
Half-price for children 4-11.

"OKLAHOMA!" - July 27-August 1
More than a groundbreaking musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" celebrates the American pioneer spirit. Independent, warm-hearted women and befuddled, hard-headed men - rugged ranchers and dogged farmers - on one of the last American frontiers as it approaches statehood. From the beginning Rodgers and Hammerstein classics have been the cornerstone of a Music Circus summer; For our 60th season, we're proud to present perhaps the most truly American work of the American musical theatre.

"DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS" - August 3-8
Music Circus premiere! Escape to the beautiful French Riviera where you'll find sunshine, cool breezes, swanky villas, roulette tables, the idle rich and two charming con men ready to swindle you. In this outrageous musical comedy, sophisticated Lawrence and small-time Freddy square off to see who can pick clean the vacationing Christine Colgate. This recent Broadway hit will be performed in the round for the first time anywhere.
Directed by 2010 Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

"FUNNY GIRL" - August 10-15
By popular demand. "Funny Girl" returns to the tent for the first time in 18 years. The wonderfully opulent yet intimate story of Fanny Brice, a goofy comic singer, who rises from ugly duckling to Ziegfeld headliner. A celebrated musical comedy filled with extravagant production numbers and show-stopping songs including "People" and "Don't Rain On My Parade."

"THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES" - August 17-22
Music Circus premiere! Travel to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet the Wonderettes: Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts and voices to match. This cotton-candy colored pop musical blast from the past features the classic songs from the '50s and '60s including "Lollipop," "It's My Party" and "It's In His Kiss." With the original New York director and choreographer and members of the off-Broadway cast.

"42nd STREET" - August 24-29
A young chorus girl from Allentown is given a once-in-a-lifetime chance to become a star in a musical that recalls both the classic days of Broadway and the golden age of movie musicals. From one sensational fast-tapping, finger-snapping showstopper to another, it will be hard to pick your favorite: "We're in the Money," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo," "Lullaby of Broadway" or "42nd Street."

Seven-show season subscriptions for Music Circus are still available for $235-299. Three show Mini-Series packages for $110-140 are also on sale. Call (916) 557-1999 for more information.
