Novato Theater Company Stages 5 TELLERS DANCING IN THE RUIN ImageNovato Theater Company concludes its successful 2017-2018 season with Mark Dunn's warm-hearted Five Tellers Dancing in the Rain. The play is directed by Anna Smith and produced by Nick Moore. It previews May 24, opens May 25, and runs weekends through June 10.

Southern sass, tears and charm engage as five bank tellers speak their hearts and brew lots of coffee in this comedy by the author of Belles. Set in the break room of a small bank in Mississippi on six consecutive weekday mornings, this warm and gentle play eavesdrops on the conversations of women who have for too long defined themselves in terms of their relationships recently ended or in the process of falling apart with the men in their lives. It's a play about broken arms and broken hearts and about finding strength and self respect through friendships with those who have been down that road before.

Among the thirty plays Dunn has written, Belles and Five Tellers Dancing in the Rain have been produced over one hundred and fifty times. Dunn is playwright-in-residence with the New Jersey Repertory Company.
