THE PLAYS

THE DRILL by Diana Stahl
Directed by Atim Udoffia
Tuesday, July 23 at 7:00 pm at Capital Stage

On the day of a high school shooting drill Leeza, Andrea, Morgan, and Chris all encounter each other in a little-used school bathroom. Some of them are still coping with a friend's suicide. Leeza is hoping to be nominated for a poetry prize. Someone finds a gun in Ms. Stuben's classroom. Just another day for modern high schoolers... or is it?

THE SWEET SPOT by Alice Jankell
Directed by David Harris
Wednesday, July 24 at 7:00 pm at Capital Stage

Vita and Jerry have to face "someday" sooner than they expected when a spot opens up for them in a retirement community. Memories from their life together play out in echoes as they struggle with the idea of leaving the only home they've ever lived in together and all of its memories (and wait impatiently for their great-grandchild to be born).

MEA'S UNIQUE GARAGE SALE by Joël Doty
Directed by Liz Frederick
Thursday, July 25 at 7:00 pm at Capital Stage

Mea holds a garage sale to fund her move to Texas with her online friend, Endgame. As she sets out and describes to the audience her various belongings, Mea's experiences with anxiety, ADHD and Endgame are laid bare to await their fate. Mea's Unique Garage Sale is a quiet yet powerful transaction between artist, audience and perceptions of mental health in our society today.
