New Drama LINES IN THE DUST Set for Spring Run at Celebration Arts Theatre
A new drama by Nikkole Salter, LINES IN THE DUST, will play Celebration Arts Theatre this spring.
A black mother's desire to assure her daughter escapes life's tragic results from a poor education schemes to get the girl into a "good" school. That school is predominately white, in another school district, and is helmed by an interim principal who is a well-educated black woman. The mother finesses the principal into the effort but that relationship is rocked when a private investigator, hired by the school board to seek out "border hoppers", implicates the principal in a scheme to keep the young girl in the school illegally.
The play features the acting talents of Tammie Denyce, Darlene Tellis and Sean Williams.
The Celebration Arts Theatre is located at 4469 D Street, Sacramento, CA 95819. Performances run: 8 p.m. - April, 28, 29, May 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 2017; 2 p.m. - May 7, 14, 21, 2017.
