Capitol Stage Company Presents Katie Rubin in MY SPIRITUAL DEATH, A COMEDY SHOW!

On Friday, March 9, 2012 Capital Stage's new midtown venue at 2215 J Street will host popular actress/comedienne Katie Rubin performing her one-woman comedy show My Spiritual Death, a Comedy Show!

In her signature unique style, local actress, playwright and comedienne, Rubin brings characters, poetry, and stand-up comedy together for this show, taking aim at spirituality, family trauma, and addiction.

Tickets are now on sale for this one-night only event on March 9, 2012 at 8pm. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased through Capital Stage's box office at 916-995-5464 or online at www.capstage.org.

According to press notes, My Spiritual Death, a Comedy Show! centers on Sherry, "a sassy, newly sober alcoholic from Texas, is hosting The Addiction Recovery Event to end all Addiction Recovery Events. She has brought the finest Recovery Speaker together with the MOST HILARIOUS Recovery Comedienne to create a night to remember."

Katie Rubin is a stage and screen actress, writer, and director who is a regular performer with Capital Stage (In the Next Room or the vibrator play, Hunter Gatherers, Speech & Debate) including Amazing & Sage, her one-woman show produced in October 2011. She has performed with Sacramento Theatre Company, B Street theater, Foothill Theater, and on stages in New York, Massachusetts and Florida. She resides in Los Angeles where she recently co-produced a film starring Harry Hamlin, became a company member at Rogue Machine theater, and has been touring her third solo show, My Spiritual Death, a Comedy Show! Currently she is directing Sherry Glaser's one-woman show, Oh My Goddess!
