B Street Theater Announces BOB As Summer Selection
The B Street Theatre, Sacramento's Resident Professional, New Works Theatre, is pleased to announce its summer play selection, a regional premiere, for the Mainstage series.
Bob by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, an award winning emerging playwright, traces the highly unusual life of its title character in pursuit of the American dream. Bob comes from modest beginnings, born and abandoned in the bathroom of a White Castle Restaurant in Louisville. He grows up on the outskirts of America, living large on its discarded treasures, yet remains determined to find his true calling. He encounters numerous disagreeable personalities and obstacles along the way but forges on, driven by the unshakeable belief that he is supposed to be something great. This zany and original social satire is a must see comedy with modern references aptly incorporated into the familiar desire to succeed.
Bob premieres regionally as the second play of B Street's 2011-2012 Mainstage Season as well as the second piece by the playwright produced by B Street. Boom was a sensation for B Street in 2010.
