Dan Montez brings us another oratorio featuring the Taconic Opera chorus and orchestra. This season, the company will present the story of the prophet Job, examining the reasons for human suffering through a beautiful new retelling of the famous story. Comments sent by the audience to Taconic Opera after the performance of last year’s Daniel include the following: “Breathtaking!”, “I am in awe!”, “Sweeping harmonic and melodic gestures!”, and “Glorious!” Tennyson called Job “the greatest poem, whether of ancient or modern literature.” Victor Hugo exclaimed, “Tomorrow, if all literature was to be destroyed and it was left to me to retain one work only, I should save Job.” Don’t miss this extraordinary world premiere!
