Stepinac High School Drama Club Alumni to Return for 50th Anniversary Show, 7/17-19

By:

Former stars of the Stepinac High School Drama Club from 1959 thru 2014 have returned for a reunion of their own to perform this show. When most people tend to leave their high school days behind, Stepinac's alumni/ae and family/friends will return to perform as they once did on Stepinac's stage.

As Stepinac's oldest alumni organization, alumni theatre is dedicated to providing alumni/ae and family and friends of Stepinac Theatre a continuing opportunity to develop their talents and provide enjoyable entertainment to the Westchester community. Founded by Dick Nagle '59 in 1964, the goal of the Alumni Theatre is to foster the theatrical arts program of the school by using the net proceeds raised from the show to benefit the current students of the Stepinac High School drama club.

Synopsis: It's the early 1970s and the Wesimann Theatre in New York is about to be demolished. Before the wrecking ball transforms the theatre into a parking lot, the Follies showgirls and performers reunite singing and dancing their old numbers while confronting and reliving past regrets.

The show stars: Jeff Schlotman '65 as Ben; Frank Squillante '77 as Buddy; Nellie O'Brien as Phyllis; Ann Shankman as Sally. Other distinguished Westchester performers include: Dick Nagle '59 (Weismann); Irene Howard (Stella); Elise Godfrey (Solange); Chris Jamison (Hattie); Tom Kramer (Theodore Whitman); Jeannie McCabe (Carlotta); Mary Ellen Malara (Emily Whitman); Mary Ann Parr (Heidi); and Peter Iasillo (Roscoe).

Co-starring: Chris Guzman '14 (Young Ben); Matthew Lotaj '11 (Young Buddy); Emily Schlotman (Young Phyllis); and Mikie Sakanaka (Young Sally). The show is directed by Frank Portanova '93 with choreography by Charlotte Newman and music direction by Chloe Sasson.

All performances will take place at the newly air conditioned Major Bowes Auditorium at Archbishop Stepinac High School located at 950 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday July 17, 18, 19 at 8:00pm. All tickets are $20.

Tickets are available in advance and at the door before each performance. For tickets and more information, call (914) 428-3128 or email alumnitheatre@stepinac.org.
