Penguin Rep Theatre, the award-winning theatre in Stony Point, New York, under the leadership of Artistic Director Joe Brancato and Executive Director Andrew M. Horn, presents the New York premiere of Dancing Lessons by Mark St. Germain from August 12 through September 4, 2016.

Dancing Lessons, a touching story about finding love in unexpected places, is from theauthor of last season's acclaimed Becoming Dr. Ruth and the long-running Off Broadway hitFreud's Last Session.

In Dancing Lessons, a man with high-functioning autism (Asperger's syndrome) seeks the instruction of a talented Broadway dancer, now sidelined with injuries. As their relationship unfolds, they're caught off-guard by surprising discoveries - both hilarious and

Matthew Schmidt and Kathleen Wise star in this new romantic comedy under the direction of Nick Demos.

The production design team includes Patrick Rizzotti (scenic designer), Dustin Cross (costume designer), Christina Watanabe (lighting designer), William Neal (Sound Designer), and Jean Marie Buccellato (properties designer), with casting by Cindi Rush. Jana Llynn is production stage manager.

The limited engagement of Dancing Lessons runs through Sunday, September 4 at Penguin Rep's Barn Theatre in historic Stony Point (Rockland County). Official opening is Sunday, August 14 at 2:00 p.m.

Performance days and times are: Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. There is also a special weekday matinee on Friday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Penguin's intimate, 108-seat theatre, which is located at 7 Crickettown Road, is converted from an 1880's hay barn, and offers air-conditioning, wheelchair accessible entrance, rest rooms and seating, and plenty of free parking.

Tickets to Dancing Lessons are priced at $43 (including facility fee and service charge). Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and young people (30 and under).

Penguin's 2016 season, which featured acclaimed productions of Mark Harelik's The Immigrant and Jonathan Tolins' Buyer & Cellar, concludes this fall with Michael McKeever's Daniel's Husband, an award-winning new drama about the power and pain of love (September 23 - October 16).
