The Emelin Theatre will present its next family series program, Galumpha, on Saturday February 18 at 11 am and 1:30 pm.

About the event: "Combining stunning acrobatics, striking visual effects, physical comedy and inventive choreography, Galumpha brings to life a world of imagination, beauty and merriment. This performance is ideal for children ages 4 and beyond."

The Emelin Theatre is "thrilled" to welcome Kate Parlato, former Mamaroneck resident and teacher at Mamaroneck’s Dance Cavise, to its stage for what will be her last performance with this award-winning dance troupe. Parloto exclaims “It’s very exciting to be performing in my hometown where my dreams of becoming a dancer first started. It really brings my worldwide travels as a professional dancer with Galumpha full circle and I couldn't be happier to share my final performances with this community that meant, and means, so much to me.”

After graduating from the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts with a major in Dance, Kate studied at Fordham University in the Fordham/Alvin Ailey B.F.A. dance program. She has performed with Sweet Enuff Dancers and Jette Performance Company in New York, and has been a member of Sidelong Dance Co. since January 2008. Kate’s choreography has been performed by Sidelong Dance Co. and was selected to appear at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association Festival in May 2009

Galumpha has received a number of awards including Edinburgh Festival Critics' Choice Award and the Moers International Comedy Arts Prize as well as appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, Jerry Lewis's Legendary MDA Telethon, A&E, and Showtime.
