As an artistic and cultural expansion of the NB ROOTS & BRANCHES FESTIVAL, the 'FRINGE' FESTIVAL offers a platform for musical styles and voices that are too often sidelined in traditional folk and roots programming. At 6:30 PM, catch MWALIM DaPhunkee Professor—a multi-award-winning and nominated singer, songwriter, and storyteller—live at Interwoven Art Studio, delivering a powerful set of Acoustic Soul, Blues, and Funk. Presented by Oversoul Theatre Collective, Interwoven Art Studio, and Polyphonic Studios, the 'FRINGE' is a grassroots response to the realities of under-resourced festival teams and the ongoing marginalization of artists of color. While the mainstage may overlook these rich traditions, the 'FRINGE' ensures that festival attendees experience the full depth and diversity of America's musical roots.
