Jackson Browne, Patty Griffin, et al. Included in Newport Folk Fest 2012 Season

Jackson Browne, My Morning Jacket, Patty Griffin and Arlo Guthrie are among the music stars slated to perform at this summer's Newport Folk Festival. Festival organizers released the line-up Wednesday night, February 29. The July 28 and 29 concerts are scheduled to be held at Fort Adams State Park. As in previous years, the 2012 line-up features varied musical genres and a mix of up-and-coming musicians and established performers. More than three dozen acts are set to perform.

The festival was started in 1959 by jazz impresario George Wein, the long-time producer of the Newport Jazz Festival. Wein continues to produce both festivals. The folk festival sold out last year for the first time.
