Some men go through life quietly. They show up, do their work, and slip away without much fuss. 
They are not Scottie Templeton. Scottie has spent the better part of five decades making everyone around him laugh harder, love bigger, and feel like the most interesting perrson in the room. He remembers every joke. He forgets every grudge. He has charmed his way into the hearts of producers, ex-wives, journalists, bartenders; virtually everyone he meets. The one exception is his son, who has remained distant from Scottie and is now an adult.

Scottie is, by any honest measure, an absolute original — the kind of man who walks into a party and somehow becomes the reason the party existed in the first place. And now, for the first time in his spectacularly undisciplined life, Scottie Templeton is going to have to get serious. He’s going to be terrible at it.
