Elwood P. Dowd is a kindhearted gentleman whose closest companion is Harvey, an invisible six-foot-tall rabbit. When Elwood’s socially ambitious sister, Veta, decides that his unusual friendship is standing in the way of the family’s reputation, she attempts to have him committed. Her plan quickly unravels, leading to mistaken identities, romantic complications, and comic chaos.
