Fifteen musical artists will be honored for their cabaret and/or jazz artistry at the 38th annual Bistro Awards gala on Monday, April 17, 7:00 pm, at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd Street, Manhattan. Learn more about those being honored here!

Australian producers John Frost and Suzanne Jones have announced today that iconic Australian entertainer Tom Burlinson will join the cast of the multi-award winning, record breaking musical CHICAGO for its seasons in Sydney and Brisbane playing the role of the cunning and charismatic lawyer Billy Flynn.

It was a happy time at Cafe Centro last night. Danny Bacher brought his Jazz, Vocals, and Comedy to the Cabaret and joined forces with the Michael Masci trio. Danny has all the talents to perfectly pay homage to the three musician entertainers he celebrated in his show….Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan. Danny plays 'happy music' and his enthusiasm and joy transferred to the Cafe Centro audience. As they say, 'the joint was jumpin', with Michael on piano, Paul Shewchuck on bass, and Cielo Blue, drums.

Get in the mood with swinging sensation, Tom Burlinson, (Now We're Swinging, Frank - A Life in Song), jazz vocalist prodigy Emma Pask, (Some Other Spring, Cosita Divina and The Voice Australia season 2), talented musician Ed Wilson, (Daly Wilson Big Band) and the highly-acclaimed 'All Star Big Band', (Frank- The Sinatra Story In Song), in Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC) Concert Hall on Friday 8 February 2019.

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum presents Danny Bacher and his All-Star Band in concert on Thursday, July 12, as part of the popular Summer JazzFest. The show, "Accentuate the Positive," draws on tunes from his soon-to-be-released "Still Happy" CD as well as his exciting salute to Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan and Louis Prima from his best-selling debut CD. Danny will also premiere several new arrangements including a tribute to the great Johnny Mercer. The All-Stars will feature Harry Allen on tenor sax, Charlie Caranicas on trumpet, Allen Farnham on piano, Bill Moring on bass, and Alvester Garnett on drums. The food truck picnic begins at 5:30 and the concert at 7:30.

The multi-talented Freda Payne best known for her singing career, as well as, her No. 1 hit 1970 pop anthem, Band of Gold has toured the world in concerts, theater performances, one woman shows, as well as, appearances in films and television, briefly hosting her own TV talk show. Freda Payne: A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, celebrates Ella Fitzgerald's 60+ year career from her 1934 award winning Apollo Theater debut and through her celebrated career as a vocalist.

Centenary Stage Company launches 2018 with an exciting line up of jazz events through the month of January with the annual January Thaw Music Festival in the Lackland Performing Arts Center.
