“Everything has it’s season, everything has it’s time..” So goes the lyrics of “Corner of the Sky”, one of the most well-known songs from Stephen Schwartz’ and Roger O. Hirson’s Tony award winning musical, PIPPIN. And it seems, that for the Garden Theatre’s latest production of this classic, now is the season and the time for a production of PIPPIN that not only brings this story to life for a new generation but does so in a new and inclusive way - incorporating deaf actors and American Sign Language (ASL) at the very heart of the show. I am pleased to say that this new approach works marvelously well – elevating the performance by adding elements that give new meaning to the story unfolding on stage and creating an evening of theatre that is magical, memorable, and unlike anything you are likely to have seen before.

Just yesterday, Tony Award-winning Broadway star of Shucked, Grammy nominated Alex Newell, led the 50th anniversary concert production of PIPPIN. Check out photos from the special night!

Stephen Schwartz's 70s musical Pippin makes a triumphant return with a note perfect casting at Drury Lane's concert version, with Fosse-inspired choreography and costumes given a disco pride vibe. Alex Newell's vocals do not disappoint, Jac Yarrow is a fine lead, while Patricia Hodge is a poignant Berthe.

What did our critic think of PIPPIN at BW Musical Theatre Program? In the Fall of 1971, while chaperoning a group of college students to New York, I saw PIPPIN, the Stephen Schwartz (music and lyrics), Roger Hirson (book), Bob Fosse (director/choreographer) musical.  I had an instant love affair with the show!

Into the Woods Jr., by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, will be running Saturday, July 29th at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Pippin, by Stephen Sschwartz and Roger O. Hirson, will be running Friday, August 4th at 7 p.m., Saturday, August 5th at 2 p.m., and Saturday, August 5th at 6 p.m.

Break a Leg Theater Works presents their upcoming summer production of 'Pippin.' With performances scheduled for July 14-16 and July 20-23, this magical production promises to be an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.

Pippin comes to NTPA Repertory Theatre this month. Performances run July 28-August 6, 2023. There are matinees at 2:30 pm and evening performances at 7:30 pm. A special ASL interpreter performance will be held on August 5th at 7:30 pm.

What did our critic think of PIPPIN at Texarkana Repertory Company?

With beautiful music, dancing, and magic, and a thought-provoking story, Pippin is a whirlwind that captures the imagination. Pippin is a challenging show, but the cast at Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg approaches the challenge with an enthusiasm that is infectious.

Rise Above Performing Arts presents 'Pippin' this month. The show runs Feb 23-26 and March 2-5. Featuring Kate Mobley-Tarpley as Leading Player and Alex McLemore as Pippin, heir to the Frankish throne.
