About the Album: An imaginary musical soundtrack by award winning actor filmmaker and and songwriter/producer Marc Raco, this fifteen track album of "patterns in the chaos" journeys through rock, jazz, pop, ballads, mambo, Christmas, and rock-opera. Raco has created soundtracks for several films, including the feature film "Getting Personal" (three of this soundtrack's songs are on this album) and the musical motion picture "Love Rules," as well as stage productions. "Basically Nowhere" started as an experiment to write in particular genres that grew into a larger-than life project. The consistent feedback that the music sounded like a musical made Raco realize that perhaps he was subconsciously guided by his own experience as a performer in staged and filmed musicals, and should finally give in to the pattern. So even though it is presented as the soundtrack of a musical that doesn't actually exist anywhere else, a majority of the songs can stand on their own. Listeners have compared tracks to music by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Liz Phair, Abba, and Bill Haley. visit www.marcraco.com Songwrter's note: This Album is a story --- an imaginary musical about journeys from the cold of loss to the warmth of possibilities, from hopelessness to hopefulness, from negative to positive. Perhaps each song is a story, a person, a moment in time, or a lifetime. I chose to briefly visit several musical forms in this "soundtrack" --- from jazz to alternative, from opera to techno-dance, and more. In essence, the journey is everywhere, never really stops in any particular place, and doesn't end. Leaving us basically nowhere.
