Orange Peel Presents Secret Agent 23 Skidoo's Year of the Weird Tour, 7/27

By:

Declaring 2014 The Year of the Weird, award-winning "King of Kid Hop," Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, returns to Asheville for a supercharged hometown album-and-book release show at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 at The Orange Peel, 101 Biltmore Ave., Asheville.

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo makes the half pint house party happen ... mixing equal parts Dr. Seuss and Dr. Dre and shaking! Riding on top of infectious beats inspired by golden age Hip Hop blended with reggae, funk, and old school R&B, Skidoo's witty wordplay stays powerfully positive and sho nuff FONKY!

Families can expect an hour-long dance party with contests, storytelling, and plenty of audience interaction. Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is friend to the quirky and wonderfully weird, so every kid will feel at home on the dance floor. For the grownups, Skidoo keeps it classy and sophisticated enough that they might end up bigger fans than their little ones. It's happened!

With a stellar resume of party rocking that stretches from basketball courts in the Bronx to the stage at the Smithsonian, from the Winnipeg Folk Festival to the famed Geffen Theatre in L.A., and from libraries to Lollapalooza, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and The Skidoo Crew are certified pros at beats, flows, and great shows.

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo's Year of the Weird Tour rambles across the U.S. this summer, from Seattle to North Carolina, with stops in Texas, NYC, DC, Portland (Oregon), and more, celebrating the double release of Skidoo's new album, The Perfect Quirk and his debut literary work, Weirdo Calhoun and the Odd Men Out. Joining Skidoo will be his right-hand man, J Kendall, and his left-hand lady, Debrissa McKinney. Rocking the finest in purple suits, dresses, fedoras, and top hats, the crew will mesmerize the eyes with Motown moves and soothe ears with harmonized hooks and super-fresh rhymes.
