"Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley is a Pulitzer Prize winning dark comedy. It tells the story of the three Magrath sisters who come together to await word of their dying grandfather and to support the youngest sister, Babe, who is charged with shooting her abusive husband. Lenny and Meg, the two older sisters, face their own problems as all three sisters realize they are stronger together as a family.
