Kids in the Hall alum Kevin McDonald has become a working comedy icon. As an actor and voice artist Kevin is the voice of Pleakley in the Lilo & Stitch franchise, Waffle in Catscratch, and the Almighty Tallest Purple in Invader Zim. Kevin also stars as a co-pilot in the new web comedy series Papillon.

McDonald is also offering a two-day 12-hour intensive "Improv to Sketch" workshop designed to improve acting and comedic writing skills. This workshop runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13. Limited to 18 people, this workshop, open to actors/improvisers/ comedians, participants will write comedy through improvised scenework, where improv serves as the writing tool.

The workshop costs $300 and will include some individual work with McDonald. Participants warm-up with improv games to help sharpen storytelling skills and evolve until students are doing their own improvised scenes in small groups. The they take these improvised scenes, working with the ideas and developing full comedy sketches. Each group will then have the opportunity to present their sketch in the workshop. After getting notes, revising and presenting the scenes again, the workshop will end with each group actually finalizing their scenes. The students will perform their now fully written sketches one last time during a showcase hosted by Kevin McDonald.
