Two-time Emmy winning Broadway and Television star John Wesley Shipp, currently on the CW's The Flash, plays the iconic role of Juror #8. Twelve Angry Men opens tonight at 7:00 pm and runs through Sunday, September 25 at Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.

In addition to Shipp, the cast of Twelve Angry Men also includes Mike Boland (Broadway's An Enemy of the People, Twelve Angry Men national tour), Matt Baguth, James Cella, Adam W. Faw, Ryan Gallerani, Mark Lamont Hance, Rick McDermott, Brook North, Jim O'Brien, Chris Thomas, Shelley Valfer, and Matthew Wise.

Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men is a blistering examination of the American melting pot and the judicial system that keeps it in check. With life in their hands and death on their minds, a diverse jury deliberates the homicide trial of a boy accused of murdering his father. The men must unanimously decide "guilty" or "not guilty," knowing that a guilty verdict carries a mandatory death sentence. Rose deliberately and carefully peels away the layers of artifice from the men and allows a fuller picture to form of them-and of America, at its best and worst. After the critically acclaimed teleplay aired in 1954, this landmark American drama went on to become a cinematic masterpiece in 1957 starring Henry Fonda. More recently, Twelve Angry Men had a successful, and award-winning, run on Broadway.

John Wesley Shipp (Juror #8) currently plays Barry Allen's father, Henry, in The Flash series on the CW, having playEd Barry Allen/The Flash on CBS' The Flash superhero series in 1990-91. He is also known for playing Dawson's dad on Dawson's Creek, and for roles on daytime television including Kelly Nelson on Guiding Light, Douglas Cummings on As the World Turns, and Martin Ellis on Santa Barbara. On Broadway, John appeared in the Tony-winning Dancing at Lughnasa and was featured opposite Harvey Fierstein in the playSafe Sex. In regional theatre he has played a diverse array of roles from Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof to Curly in Oklahoma!
