DPAC Welcomes Four Millionth Guest

By:

DPAC Welcomes Four Millionth Guest ImageOn Wednesday, November 7th, DPAC welcomed its "Special 4 Millionth Guest." The winner, Dawn Bland of Durham, was nominated for this honor based on her significant contributions to the Triangle community.

As DPAC's "Special 4 Millionth Guest," Dawn was treated to a "VIP Night Out," which included a pair of tickets to HAMILTON, a pre-show dinner for two at NanaSteak, and a one-night stay at Aloft Downtown Durham. Dawn also received a special welcome to DPAC, complete with a red carpet entrance and champagne toast.

"I am completely thrilled to be the 4 millionth guest at the DPAC," says Dawn Bland. "I have had so many memorable experiences and friendships built because of what the DPAC provides. It is such a gift."

Dawn Bland has been an active member of Porch Durham, Durham First in Families, the Independent Animal Rescue, Communities in Schools, and the Autism Society of North Carolina.

DPAC's advance to this attendance landmark has been driven by a mission to be guests' favorite place for live entertainment. Since 2008, DPAC has hosted blockbuster shows direct from Broadway, world-renowned concerts, celebrated comedians and a wealth of other special events. DPAC has also been consistently ranked among the top five most attended theaters in the U.S. for the past ten years and was recently named Theater of the Year by International Entertainment Buyers Association.

Since opening in 2008, DPAC has presented nearly 1,020 hit Broadway performances, 292 concerts and 106 celebrity comedians. Approximately 817 of these events have been total sellouts including multi-week runs of HAMILTON, Disney's The Lion King, Broadway's #1 blockbuster WICKED, and The Book of Mormon. Renowned artists such as Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, and Joan Baez have graced the stage, and comedians like Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Aziz Ansari, and Gabriel Iglesias have made DPAC audiences laugh. DPAC is also home to SunTrust Broadway at DPAC, one of the top Broadway Series in the U.S.
