Winner of the 1997 Tony for best play, TLNoB takes place in Atlanta in December 1939. Gone with the Wind is premiering and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jews are more concerned with Ballyhoo,the social event of the season. The family is pulled apart and then mended as family dynamics are interwoven with comedy, drama, romance, and revelations along the way. Events take unexpected turns as the characters face where they came from and are forced to deal with who they really are.
