The story of the unsinkable Molly Ivins, the famously brassy newspaper columnist and best-selling author. A true Texas original, Ivins was a sharp-tongued wit who skewered the political establishment and the good ol boys with her unforgettable humor and wisdom. Written by twin sisters, themselves longtime journalists, the play celebrates Ivins courage and tenacity even when a complacent America wasnt listening.Meg Chamberlain is all smarts and sass as the red headed firebrand, recounting her political rants and personal reflections with a liberal dose of piss and vinegar. Written by twin sisters Margaret Engel and Allison Engel and directed by respected Director Stephanie Mulligan, this production captures the spunky reporters indomitable character by weaving personal anecdotes with her colorful take on national politics. Opening Night for RED HOT PATRIOT is Friday, March 8 and runs through Sunday, March 24 with Friday and Saturday night performances at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Free parking lot and street parking available.
