THE {WILD} MONEY MONOLOGUES Set for Headwaters Theater This Weekend
The world premiere of {Wild} Money Monologues will take place this weekend, June 7th and 8th, beginning at 7:30pm at the Headwaters Theater, 55 N.E. Farragaut St.
Created and produced by Luna Jaffe, award-winning author and Certified Financial Planner and directed by Susan Banyas, {Wild} Money Monologues captures the truth about the way our money stories have shaped us.
This performance is provocative and deeply authentic as eight women tell stories of loss, betrayal, resilience, conflict, revelation and reflection. Where do we find financial resilience? How do we heal and rewrite our money stories? {Wild} Money Monologues seeks to open the conversation and explore money from the inside out.
The evening includes monologues and ensemble pieces, as well as a mini-workshop immediately following the performance for those who wish to further explore their own relationship with money using creative process, writing and storytelling.
Every woman has a money story, and is on a financial journey. For many, this journey is fraught with pain, loss, and grief. Luna Jaffe is carrying the torch that will ignite a global conversation about money.
You will meet Rivkah, whose grandparents gave her the gift of saving through bringing wonder to the process. Amy reflects on the series of events that resulted in losing her career, home and friendships, leaving her making less money in her mid-forties than she made at 17 years old. Shoba tells of losing 4 cents when she was eight and how her father's distrust impacted her for decades. Coping with student loan debt and a medical crisis forced Rachel to examine her priorities and her financial practices, while Pearl explores the conflict between working a JOB and making a living doing what she loves.
Local performers include Rivkah Coburn, Adrianne Gunn, Shoba Satya, Rachel Dominguez-Benner, Amy Dier, Pearl Waldorf and Luna Jaffe.
Tickets are $18 for the performance. To purchase tickets, visit www.lunajaffe.com/monologues. (Tickets are limited, and no tickets will be available at the door).
