Lakewood Theatre Company continues its 64th season on January 6, 2017 with Agatha Christie's murder mystery masterpiece, Murder On The Nile. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in costume below!

In true Agatha Christie fashion, there has been a murder aboard a luxury steamer as it travels up the Nile River. Handsome newlyweds are on their honeymoon with the usual mix of Christie characters -the ex-fiancé, an overbearing matron, a socialist, a clergyman and a German doctor. One of them turns up dead. Whodunnit? It is up to the cast and the audience to put the pieces together and reveal the murderer.

Simon Mostyn (Chase Fulton) has recently married the wealthy and beautiful Kay Ridgeway (Tiffany Groben), having jilted his former fiancé and Kay's ex-best friend Jacqueline De Severac (Sarah Jane Fridlich). The newlyweds are on their honeymoon on a paddle steamer on the Nile, accompanied by a host of memorable characters including Jacqueline, who, though uninvited, has been stalking their every move all through the honeymoon.

What started as a pleasant diversion through Egypt to see the sites becomes a thrill-ride of jealousy, suspicion and murder, with every character given the opportunity to show their best (and worst) selves.

Quite different from the films and TV movies based on the book, Agatha Christie wrote the play herself, and crafted it for the medium of theatre and for the theatre actors she so loved and admired. This exotic thriller is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Our suspects are joined by a cast of unforgettable characters including the self-absorbed Miss ffoliot-ffoulkes (Lisa Knox) and her warmhearted niece Christina Grant (Katie Mortemore), dry-witted socialist WilLiam Smith (Jacob Lee Smith), Dr. Bessner (Scott Engdahl), a European doctor with a grudge, Kay's maid Louise (Mamie Wilhelm), a couple of pesky Beadsellers (Joshua D. Willis and Alec Cameron Lugo), the ship's Steward (Matthew Sepeda) and Kay's guardian, Canon Pennefather (Gary L. Anderson).

When murder strikes in the middle of the Nile, who can be trusted? With Canon Pennefather in the role of lead detective, can the mystery be solved before the steamer makes its final dock? All the elements are in place to experience the thrill of a perfect Christie murder mystery.

Stage Direction for LTC's production of Murder On The Nile is by Nancy McDonald and the assistant director is Laurence Overmire. Scenic design is by Max Ward, lighting and sound design is by Kurt Herman, properties are by Addie Underwood, and costume design is by Margaret Louise Chapman.
