Photo Flash: Lakewood Theatre Company to Open with CABARET
Lakewood Theatre Company begins its fall season on September 8th with the legendary landmark musical Cabaret directed by Ron Daum. Musical direction is by Beth Noelle, and choreography is by Laura Hiszczynskyj.
Take your seat at the "perfectly marvelous" Kit Kat Klub in Kander and Ebb's Tony winning musical about cabaret performer Sally Bowles (Kayla Dixon), American writer Cliff Bradshaw (Jon Gennari), and the decadence of 1930s Berlin. With mounting fear and uncertainty outside, your Emcee (Chuck Ketter) welcomes you into a world where your troubles are left at the door... or are they? As Sally and Cliff pursue a life of pleasure in Weimar Berlin, the world outside the Klub begins to splinter. The two are faced with a choice: abandon themselves to pleasures promised by the cabaret, or open their eyes and face the coming storm.
Performances begin September 8 and continue through October 15, 2017, playing Thursday,Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM, two Wednesday performances (Sept. 27, Oct 11) at 7:30 PM, Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM (Sept. 10, 24, Oct. 8), and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM (Sept. 17, Oct. 1, 8, and 15). The show contains adult situations and is not recommended for young children. The show sponsor is Don & Sharon Plumb.
The theatre is located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State St. in Lake Oswego. Ticket prices are $39/adults and $37/seniors. Other discounts are available for students and groups. Special note: On Wednesdays, September 27 and October 11, the theatre continues its program called WOW: 25-35. For people 35 and under tickets are priced at $25 each. Use the code WOW25 when ordering tickets online for a $25.00 ticket. At these performances there will be a complimentary wine or whiskey tasting one hour before curtain. On Wednesday, September 27, enjoy a complimentary wine tasting courtesy of World Class Wines and on Wednesday, October 11, there will be a complimentary whiskey tasting donated by Indio Spirits.
