Ira Glass Coming to Merrill Auditorium, 11/8
Portland Ovations brings This American Life host and National Public Radio icon Ira Glass back to Merrill Auditorium on Saturday, November 8th at 8pm.
Ira Glass has won all of the major broadcasting awards, he has 2.1 million weekly listeners and the most popular podcast in the country. With This American Life, he blurs the lines between journalism, documentary and fiction to create something wholly original, thought provoking and humorous. As it approaches its twentieth year, join Glass for a fascinating evening of insight into the cultural force and how it's put together: what makes a compelling story, where they find the amazing stories for their show, and how he and his staff are trying to push broadcast journalism beyond its taditional boundaries. Combining his distinct narration with taped segments, Glass recreates the sound and feel of the show live onstage for the audience to experience.
Tickets for Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass range from $27 to $45 for Ovations' Members and $30-$50 for the general public.. To purchase tickets, visit www.portlandovations.org call PortTIX at 207-842-0800 or visit the box office window at Merrill Auditorium.Videos
