By:

CoHo Productions will be holding auditions for Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead on April 14 and 15 from 6-10 PM. Callbacks will take place on April 21st.

Auditions will take place at the CoHo Theater at 2257 NW Raleigh Street in Portland.

Casting will be limited to high school and college-aged students between the ages of 15 and 21. This is a play about High School and the issues faced by teens in today's world.

Auditions will consist of two contemporary monologues, one dramatic, one comedic, 1-2 minutes in length. Callbacks will be readings from the script.

If you would like to obtain an audition slot, please contact director Brian Allard at Brian@BrianAllard.net. Please state your preference(s) for a half hour slot on April 14 or 15 between 6:00-10:00. All efforts will be made to assign you to your preferred time, but it may not be possible.

Dog Sees God will perform four weekends, opening July 10 and running through August 2. Rehearsals will begin in June. Most rehearsals will be weekdays once school is out.

Please contact Brian with any questions, or to obtain a perusal copy of the script.

When CB's dog dies from rabies, he begins to contemplate what happens after we die. His best friend Van is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend (Van's Sister) has been recently institutionalized; and his other friends, Marcy and Tricia are too inebriated and self-involved to give him any sort of solace.

Re-establishing a relationship with his childhood friend, Beethoven - who may or may not be gay - CB upsets the balance in his clique of friends that ends in horrible violence. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity are among the issues covered in this drama.
