AUDITIONS at Gallery Theater held for Arsenic and Old Lace

Synopsis: Meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with The Remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers; the antics of their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; and the activities of the other brother, these require no further description or amplification here. A comedy from start to finish. Auditions will be readings from selected scenes from the script.
Cast of Characters:
11 Men and 3 Women (of the 11M, some are minor bit parts)
Abby Brewster, sweet elderly spinster
Martha Brewster, sweet elderly spinster
Mortimer Brewster, younger nephew of sisters, 20-30
Teddy Brewster, nephew who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt
Jonathan Brewster, Teddy's brother, not a nice guy
Dr. Einstein, Jonathan's cohort in crime
Elaine Harper, Mortimer's girlfriend
Officer O'Hara, Police officer with a story
Officer Brophy
Officer Klein
The Rev. Dr. Harper, next door neighbor, Elaine's father
Lieutenant Rooney, on the trail of crime
Mr. Witherspoon, director of Happy Dale Sanitarium
Mr. Gibbs, a lonely old Methodist
Rehearsals will be four nights a week (M, T, W, Th) beginning January 31 (with some flexibility depending on the character)
Eight Performances: April 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15 & 16 ~ 2011
