THE YOUNG SPIRIT OF DANCE Comes to Teatr Wielki

The Young Spirit of Dance is a Polish-Japanese dance project that has played twice on Japanese stages, and in Poland it will be its fifth edition. The performers are young artists from ballet schools in Poland and Japan. This year's edition will be devoted primarily to "Polish Siberian children" - a topic that is little known in our country.

The performance will refer to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Polish Siberian children arriving in Japan. The Japanese helped almost 800 children of Polish exiles in Siberia. The project is an expression of thanks for the wonderful gesture of Japan.

The performance will be presented to the music of, among others Polish composers (Paderewski, Wieniawski, Moniuszko or Chopin) and Japanese composers (Zukeran, Hirai, Hisaishi, Yamada).

We will hear the music performed by two great pianists: Marek Ciepierski and Miho Kurihara. Polish and Japanese young artists will present a dance performance. He will tell about the mentioned events, and multimedia projections, historical photos from that period and narration will complement the performance.
