The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents Canadian band, The Musical Box, at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. The Musical Box will perform their exclusive and meticulously restaged Genesis' 1973 concert tour, Selling England by the Pound. Ticket prices start at $39.25. For information, visit www.TrustArts.org, call (412) 456-6666, or in person: Theater Square Box Office, 655 Penn Avenue. This event is part of the Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series.

In the autumn of 1973, the concept of a rock show was redefined by Genesis, touring Europe and North America to promote the release of their fifth album, Selling England by the Pound. Both the theatrical imagination of Peter Gabriel, original band member from Genesis, and the intricacy and intensity of Genesis' music reached their apexes and were enhanced by surrealistic sets and special visual effects, leaving audiences spellbound. For what proved to be one of the first-ever multimedia performances, Selling England by the Pound remains a vivid memory for those privileged to have attended it.

Now, officially licensed by Genesis and Peter Gabriel, Canadian band, The Musical Box reproduces the 1973 classic in painstaking detail. The show's quality is a result of years of work by musicians, technicians, and collectors who used hundreds of photos and slides of the original concerts, videos, amateur films, newspaper and magazine articles, and information offered by numerous people who worked on or attended the Genesis shows 40 years ago. These sources allowed for the masks, costumes, make-up, accessories, sets, lighting design, special effects, choreography, and musical presentation to be meticulously duplicated, including the use of the instruments that characterized the Genesis sound - the Mellotron, Hammond organ, Leslie cabinets, Hohner Pianet, Rickenbacker double-neck guitars, bass pedals, and more.

The band's name-The Musical Box- originated from the Genesis song, of same title, from the 1971 album Nursery Cryme. The Musical Box has presented restaged Genesis' 1973 and 1974 concert tours Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway to audiences throughout North America and Europe.

The Musical Box's creative team includes: Denis Champoux (acoustic and electric guitars); Denis Gagné (lead vocal, flute, percussion); Sébastien Lamothe (bass, bass pedals, 6-string and 12-string guitars, backing vocals); Martin Levac (drums, percussion, backing vocals); David Myers (keyboards, 12-string guitar, backing vocals); Sébastien Lamothe (musical direction); and Serge Morissette (artistic direction).
