Pittsburgh Public Theater's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM will close on Feb. 21, 2010 at the O'Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater's home in the heart of Downtown's Cultural District.

In MIDSUMMER, Duke Theseus and Hippolyta are preparing for their wedding. Also with love on their minds are the younger members of the party - Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius - who escape into the forest to pursue their amorous adventures. The forest is also being used by Bottom and his band of tradesmen, who are rehearsing a play to be performed at the wedding feast. When these mortals collide with the true residents of the woods, The Fairies, led by Titania, Oberon and Puck, hilarious mischief and magic ensue.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM includes 23 characters, played by 15 actors: John Ahlin (Bottom), Bianca Amato (Titania/Hippolyta), J.T. Arbogast (Demetrius), Tony Bingham (Tom Snout/Cobweb), Alex Coleman (Peter Quince/Egeus), Harris Doran (Puck/Philostrate), James FitzGerald (Starveling/Peaseblossom), Daniel Krell (Francis Flute/Mustardseed), Lindsey Kyler (Hermia), Devin E. Malcolm (Snug/Moth), Lucas Near-Verbrugghe (Lysander), David Whalen (Oberon/Theseus), and Beth Wittig (Helena). The roles of Page/First Fairy will be played by seventh-graders and Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest winners Meggie Booth and ALex Lindsay Roth at alternate performances.

The design team for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM is James Noone (Scenic), Gabriel Berry (Costumes), Kirk Bookman (Lighting), and Zach Moore (Sound). Ruth E. Kramer is the Production Stage Manager and Ashley J Martin is the Assistant Stage Manager.
