Pittsburgh CLO Welcomes the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church Choir to AIDA
Pittsburgh CLO is proud to announce the Pittsburgh CLO debut of the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church choir throughout the run of Elton John & Tim Rice's AIDA,July 26-31 at the Benedum Center. Director of Worship & Arts, Alton Mitchell, will lead 19 members of the choir as they perform "Gods Love Nubia" with the cast under the direction of Pittsburgh CLO Music Director Tom Helm.
Mr. Mitchell shared his enthusiasm over this collaboration - "Rodman Street Mass Choir considers it an honor and privilege to work with the AIDA production. As a music ministry we are constantly looking for ways to interact with and serve our community. This partnership between our ministry and Pittsburgh CLO has been a real blessing. We are having a blast and the music is great!"
"I'll be forever grateful to Alton and his 19 members who came to rehearsal prepared, excited and talented. I had as much fun working with these wonderful people as I ever have in rehearsal. They could sight-read and blend, and all had such wonderful humor about the entire process. I can't wait to see them on the Benedum stage," exclaimed Pittsburgh CLO Music Director Tom Helm.
